About

After graduating from Kingston University with a BSc in Mathematics in 2000, one of my first jobs was as a basic skills Maths and English tutor at City College Plymouth.

I then entered the business world, where I stayed for some years, working in both public and private sectors. A key responsibility in my varied roles was delivering training, and during this time that I gained a postgraduate diploma in training.

A few years later, I decided to return to education as my main profession, which is where my real passion lies. I became a functional skills tutor, supporting learners to gain qualifications in Maths and English. I then became a private tutor and with a fellow tutor, set up and ran a successful tutoring agency. I have experience of supporting students with a range of abilities, strengths and weaknesses.

I am also a very proud mum of three children.
